Key features & benefits

  • 2 Burners.
  • Precise simmer control.
  • Matchless ignition.
  • Grill and griddle accessories included.
  • Windshields.
  • Carry handle.

What is in the name

This Coleman Cascade 3-in-1 Camping Stove is one out of five different stoves from their new Cascade series. They come with the same color of the metal box, but they are all very different. The picture below shows all the elements in the package.

So the phrase 3-in-1 here describes the following.

  1. The stove has two standard burners for cooking as in the picture below.

  2. But there are also two premium cast-iron cooking grill and griddle accessories included in the package, see them above. They come in their own nylon carry sack. You can put them on and use the two areas for grilling.
  3. You can also use one burner for cooking and one grill accessory for grilling, this is the third function.

There is a removable cast-iron pan support, and the cooktop is an aluminized steel, so this is all easy to clean. They claim that they have improved knobs rotation design, so you have a precise temperature and simmer control. You also have a matchless rotary ignition button here, you can see it in the pictures.

As for the dimensions, you have a box that measures 22 x 13.2 x 3.7 inches (56 x 34 x 9 cm). The weight is 14.8 pounds (6.7 kg). So it is a bit heavy, but it has a recessed carry handle.

Cooking power

The total cooking power here is 24000 BTUs, so this means 12000 BTUs per burner. This is quite a lot power, more than in many of its competitors, but this is still far below of what you can have with the Camp Chef Everest 2 Burner Camping Stove which is built in the same style.

The burn time on high on one 16 oz propane cylinder is up to 1 hours. Note that the lid acts as a wind shield, and there are 2 foldable wind guards on the sides. The top is such that you can put a 12-inch pan and a 10-inch pan.

Please see more in this short video:

Who is it for

Regarding the best use & power, this stove is definitely great for smaller families and groups of friends. The included accessories make it versatile so you can cook and grill at the same time. The power is better than in the GSI Selkirk 540 Camp Stove and simmer control feature is great.

Regarding the weight, with 14.8 lb (6.7 kg), it is a bit on the heavy side but it is still considerably lighter than their Coleman Hyperflame Fyresergeant 2 Burner 3-IN-1 Propane Stove.

But I do not think the weight is so important, you will use it for car camping. The box is thin, see the picture, and it will not take much space in the car.

This is how it looks when closed for transportation.

Regarding the price, it is currently more expensive than some of its competitors, but you have seen its included accessories, they add value and versatility. I wish to stress that it is far more affordable than the mentioned Coleman Hyperflame Fyresergeant 2 Burner 3-IN-1 Propane Stove.

In summary, this Coleman Cascade 3-in-1 Camping Stove is versatile with its dual burners and the included accessories. It is compact for transportation and its recessed carry handle makes it portable.
