What is in the name

When you see this item from the side as in the picture below, it looks like a standard sleeping bag. But this is something between a mummy-type sleeping bag and a quilt.

As you realize from the pictures, it comes with an integrated hood, so this is something you would expect from a sleeping bag.

There is also a full-length zipper visible in the picture below. This is again a feature that you have in sleeping bags, and you can use it as a blanket in the camp.

It can be fully unzipped.

Note that there is a pre-attached foot-box shown below. It is double layered and with an opening that tucks in and out of the quilt.

With this you can regulate ventilation as it suits you, this is demonstrated in the pictures. Apart from this, with such a design, this thing can be a great option for people who feel constricted and claustrophobic in standard sleeping bags. I must admit, I am one of these, every sleeping bag is too small for me.

But here you also have hand pockets in the corners, one is shown below. This is something you will find only in quilts, and this is useful if you keep it unzipped and use as a standard quilt, so you can wrap it around your body.

You also have an inner pocket for small items that you want to keep at hand. This can be a phone, and also batteries which need to be kept protected from the cold.

This quilt/bag also comes with a Pad Lock attachment system that keeps the pad under you. This is a great feature for people who move and turn a lot during the sleep. Note also that it is fastened to the stuff sack, so you never have to worry about losing these elements.

Materials

They claim that this product is responsibly made from 100% recycled synthetic materials.

This includes a 10 denier nylon ripstop shell and a 20 denier nylon taffeta liner. The insulation is also 100% recycled SierraLoft Eco synthetic insulation.

Who is it for

Regarding protection & climate, the picture below shows some data which suggest that this is a true 3-season outdoor sleeping item.

You realize it is ISO rated, so the temperature rating should be reliable. But as always, it is best to test it yourself in controlled conditions.

Some important data.
Some important data.

Observe that you have an adjustable hood and draft collar to lock in warmth. There is a draft collar along the zipper as well. These features are essential if you camp in a cooler environment.

With all these features, you can use as a quilt or as a standard sleeping bag, dependent on the environment and climate. Effectively, you have two products in one.

Regarding the size, you have the numbers shown in the picture above, so if you are a very tall person, observe that it is not very long.

Regarding the weight, with 1 lb 14 oz (850 g), and in view of its synthetic insulation and the overall design, this is a surprisingly light item.

If this is not light enough, you can check the Sea to Summit Glow Gw1 Synthetic Quilt, but this is just a quilt and not a hybrid construction.

The packed size is also quite good, it can be described as compact, see the numbers below. So it is light and compact enough even for the trail, and you can use it also for any other outdoor activity.

Regarding the price, it is quite fair for such a great product, and you have a top brand behind it.
