Key features & benefits

  • Fleece liner.
  • Very wide sleeping bag.
  • Synthetic insulation.
  • Machine washable.
  • Suitable for extreme cold.
  • Great price.

What is in the name

One of the great features of this sleeping bag is mentioned in the title, so you have a very pleasant fleece liner shown in the picture below. This bag has been around for many years for very good reasons, and it has stood the test of time.

This is a very typical rectangular sleeping bag, but it is hooded (see the picture) and this makes it even more warm and thermally efficient.

Materials

You have already seen its liner, so this is a 200 g/m² single-sided non-pilling fleece lining. But the shell is also impressive, this is a very strong and durable 210T ripstop polyester.

The insulation is a 100% polyester 6D hollow fiber, and you have 7 pounds (3.2 kg) of it alone. The bag is with a full length nylon zipper and you can unzip it completely. You will want to know that this sleeping bag is machine washable. Note that the bag is very thick, the picture shows its thickness and this is in inches.

Who is it for

Regarding the best use & climate, the official temperature rating is -15 F (-26 C). This makes it a great winter camping bag. But you can unzip the bag and use as a blanket so it may be suitable even for warm weather camping.

Regarding the size, this is a huge sleeping bag and you can see this from the picture below. Its overall dimensions are 90 x 39 in (229 x 99 cm). So I have included it in my list of extra wide sleeping bags.

Regarding the weight, this is a heavy item with its 11 lb (5 kg). The packed size is also appropriate, it rolls up to the size of (L x D) 25 x 16 inches (64 x 41 cm), see it packed in the picture. So this is a sleeping bag for places with a car access.

A compression stuff sack is included.

Regarding the price, I would describe it as a great value for the money, so it is not surprising that the bag has always been so popular.

Final thoughts & rating

At the brand’s site they describe this Guide Gear Fleece Lined Sleeping Bag -15 F as warm, tough, and value-priced, and this is a fair description. This is why the bag has been around for at least 15 years already.

It is designed for cold weather and winter camping, it is also machine washable, and fairly priced. No wonder it is their best seller. Fully recommended. I have included it in my lists of best rectangle sleeping bags and best fleece sleeping bags for adults.

Below you can see how I rate it against my usual rating criteria. This make it easy to compare it with other similar items here in the site:
