Best 4 Person Tent with a Screen Room

Last Modified: 11/27/2023

Here you have several suggestions for the best 4 person tent with a screen room, in a variety of shapes, all easy to use, compact, and affordable tents.

Best 4 Person Tent with a Screen Room

Not many manufacturers have such relatively small camping tents that include a screen room. But it is Coleman that has them in all sizes, so naturally you see them here also in this 4-person group.

The term screen room may imply quite different designs. But here, I include only those that have a floor in the screen room. However, even in this case, you will see differences because some have full protection from the rain and some not. The former can be described as true 2-room tents because there is no difference in the level of protection in the two units.

My list of the best 4 person tents with a screen room

Here is the list with the tents ordered by the total floor area with full protection from smaller to larger:

  1. Coleman Carlsbad 4 Person Tent
  2. Coleman 4 Person Cabin Camping Tent with Screen Room
  3. Coleman Camping Tent Skydome 4 Person with Screen Room

1. Coleman Carlsbad 4 Person Tent

The Carlsbad 4 tent has been on the market for many years already. The screen room is visible in the picture, and this is a pleasant area for sitting and cooking. But it does not provide full protection, the side walls are only mesh without panels. On the other hand, the screen room is floored but it has openings to let the rainwater get out.

Apart from this great feature, the tent also comes with their dark rest technology. You have it in the inner tent room which is fully protected and the fly is designed to reflect up to 98% of the sunlight. This means that the atmosphere in the tent is cooler and far darker than in ordinary tents. With this you can sleep longer in the morning and take a nap during the day.

The overall shape is a dome. The total area is 99 ft² (9.2 m²). The inner room has 5.84 m² and the screen room 3.34 m².

2. Coleman 4 Person Cabin Camping Tent with Screen Room

This Coleman 4 Person Cabin Camping Tent with Screen Room is a tunnel-type, so disregard the word Cabin which is the part of its official name.

It has a front screen room which is floored but with openings to drain water. But the screen room is deep under the porch and it is fully protected under the fly. The inner room has around 64 ft² (6 m²). The total area is 88 ft² (8.2 m²) and the weight is 23 lb (10.4 kg).

The tent offers three panoramic windows, one large door, and it comes with an e-cable port. It is also very affordable.

3. Coleman Camping Tent Skydome 4 Person with Screen Room

This Coleman Camping Tent Skydome 4 Person with Screen Room is a a true 2-room tent. So the screen room here is fully protected, this means it has both mesh and panels, and the floor is fully sewn-in and sealed.

When the sky is clear you can enjoy its screen room while still being protected from annoying insects. I see it as a great 3-season camping tent. The leg poles are straight, so the tent looks like a cabin type.

The weight of this tent is 16.8 lb (7.6 kg) and the area is 56 + 22 ft² (5.2 + 2 m²), the two numbers are for the back room and the screen room, respectively. The poles are fiberglass, there are several storage pouches on the wall and an E-cable port.

Final thoughts

So this was my selection of the best 4 person tents with a screen room, and as you see, you have quite different designs and some truly great features. These are all collapsible tents that need a simple assembly, but this is an easy task and one person can set any of them with ease.

The list will be updated whenever I find a tent that deserves to be added here. This is why you might want to bookmark this text and visit it from time to time. Let me know if you have questions, there is a comment box below. Thank you for reading and have a nice day.
