Last Modified: 02/19/2025

Climbing Piz Cotschen featured picture.

There is quite a confusion regarding the name of this mountain. It is on maps sometimes called Piz Cotschen, Monte Cotschen, and Munt Cotschen. In addition, there are at least three peaks in the Alps with the same name.

Breithorn-East side crest.

Breithorn  (4164 m) is one of the giants in the Zermatt area in Wallis, Switzerland.  Nowadays, climbing Breithorn is just a simple glacier walk from Klein Matterhorn lift station. This route is described here.

Lagginhorn – Simple yet Deadly 4000er

Last Modified: 01/13/2025

On Lagginhorn glacier, the hut is seen below.

Lagginhorn (4010 m) is sometimes described as an ‘easy 4000er’. I would say climbing it is rather straightforward. Most of the time you see almost all the route as soon as you are above the forest area.
