This Mission Mountain Pawsible Tent review is about a completely unique tent on the market. As of the moment of writing this text this is the only tent with a separate pets room.

What this Pawsible tent is about
So, here you have something completely unique, there is currently no other tent on the market with such a design. The tent can be described as fully freestanding dome type tent, and this holds even when the fly is on.
In practical terms, this implies that you can move it around with ease after you set it up, so you can carry it short distances in the camp, rotate, and such things.
This is a true double layer tent with an inner canopy that includes taffeta and mesh areas, and a a full-coverage fly. The top picture above shows the tent without the fly, so that you can better see its structure.
Unique tent with a separate pets room
Yes you are reading this correctly, here you have a two-room construction, where one of the rooms is for pets. The picture below shows the tent from the front to realize how nicely designed the pet’s room is.
This is a trapezoidal space with its own external mesh access door, but with an inner door as well that connects it to the other larger room (more below).
In the two corners of the pet’s room there are two shelves where you can place bowls, one is shown in the picture. But you will see below more nice features when the fly is on.
The doors & windows
The inner tent is with three external doors, two large for people on the longer sides of the tent, and the mentioned pet’s door. The picture below shows the large side doors, as you realize they unzip wide and you can then attach them to the side with toggles and loops that are in place there.
But there is also an inner double-layer door (shown below). Here you have a zippered mesh door accompanied with a zippered mesh panel, so you can use these layers as it suits you. The pet can get to you when you allow for it.
All these doors on the inner tent are paired with the corresponding doors on the fly. One of the fly side doors is shown below, and you realize it is with a zipper under the flap and it opens wide the same way as the inner tent’s door. This means you can roll it to the side and fix with toggles and loops.
The pets room is also with its own external fly panel door. Both inner and fly doors on the pet’s room can be rolled down and fixed close to the floor.
The tent’s fly also has two solid windows that match the inner mesh areas in the pet’s space. Here is the front view and you can see them both:
Ventilation
Ventilation in this tent is excellent. There are six large mesh areas on the canopy, plus the inner door with one layer which is mesh, so vapor can escape in many directions.
The fly covers the tent completely, but you will always have air circulation from the ground, there is enough gap for this.
To deal with condensation, they have built three roof vents here, and this is quite remarkable for such a small tent. Two vents are above the pet’s room, and you can see them above the solid windows in the previous picture. One additional vent is on the rear side of the tent, see it in the picture:
Materials and elements in the package
The package includes the elements shown in the picture:
The poles and stakes: All the metal elements here are aluminum. You have three shock-corded poles that attach to the grommets at the tent’s base, and higher you have clips and sleeves.
The stakes are a good quality Y-shaped in cross section, I have the same type in my Crua Duo Dome tent and in two other tents. But they are black and not very visible when on the ground, and I would rather have them in orange color.
The 8 guylines are with interesting tensioners, very different from my other tents. They come pre-attached to the tent.
The fabric: The fly is a 20D ripstop nylon. This denier value looks rather low, and I am not sure if this is correct or not because the fabric looks stronger to me. When I used the tent for my initial rain testing, the picture below, I had plenty of wind and rain and it did not make much noise.
If you are familiar with such material, then you know that it is prone to stretching and sagging when wet. But I used this tent in a strong rain that lasted all the night and did not see any sugging here.
The picture below shows my tent after such a night with rain. I did not additionally tension the guylines, this is how it was next morning:
By the way, you realize from the picture that the guylines are hardly visible. If they upgrade this tent later, I would suggest them to make them in orange color.
According to their specifications, the inner canopy is supposed to be a 70D ripstop nylon.
Other details
- There are several pouches on the inner tent’s walls to keep your stuff of-ground. One large pouch is in the feet area, and two smaller are on the sides of the inner door.
- You also have two lantern hooks under the canopy, see the pictures:
- In the pictures above, you have seen two side straps on the ground, they connect corners of the inner tent. To tell you frankly, I miss understanding their true purpose. Namely, the tent has stakes in the same corners to keep the structure stable, so these straps are just dangling around without purpose. But if you understand their purpose, do let me know in the comments below.
My rain testing
I have tested this tent in a really good rain. It was raining continuously for at least 7 hours, and with some additional rain intervals after that. The picture shown above is from that test, hence the mist in the picture.
But when I inspected everything in the morning, it was completely dry inside. So the tent is fully waterproof, I know this for sure, though they do not give any information about its waterproof rating.
However, there is a design issue with the fly doors; when you open them and the fly is wet or it rains, the water goes directly on the floor. So you do not have a dry entry here, and this is my main objection to this tent.

Who is this Mission Mountain Pawsible Tent for
Regarding the best use & climate, this is a true 3-season double layer tent with an inner canopy that includes plenty of options for ventilation. It will work great if you use it for warm weather camping.
But it is also fully closable, and this makes it suitable for a less warm climate, see the picture, this is from my February camping:
You have seen quality aluminum poles that create three intersection points, so this is a surprisingly stable and strong structure.
The tent is low profile and with an aerodynamic shape when the fly is on. Therefore, I am sure it can take lots of wind pressure and it will perform very good in windy places. I had plenty of wind in the pictures shown above, but my camping spot was in a forest and the tent was less exposed to the winds.
As mentioned previously in the section about my testing, the tent is fully waterproof, so you will be protected in practically every weather conditions.
Regarding the size and capacity, the tent is officially for two people. The picture below shows the official dimensions provided by the brand and the floor plan. This would imply enough space for up to two users. But…
However, from my own measurements, the inner area for people is considerably smaller. You have a tapered trapezoidal floor shape which is around 120 cm at the wider end.
In the feet zone it is around 40 inches (100 cm), so it is definitely not 50.4 inches (128 cm) as the floor plan picture suggests.
So my own estimate of the inner room area is around 2.3 square meters (25 ft²), which is a bit small for two users, but doable. This is the same as in their Mission Mountain UltraPort 2P Tent Pro. The pet’s room area (my estimate) is around 0.5 m² ( 5.4 ft²).
It may be useful to compare the total floored area with what you have in the OneTigris Cometa Camping Tent which is much larger.
Note that with such a floor shape it is best to use a pad that is tapered as well, so have a look at this Exped Ultra 3R Duo Sleeping Pad and also at the Big Agnes Rapide SL Insulated Tent Floor Sleeping Pad.
If you do not have a pet with you, the pet’s room can be used as a great area for gear storage. In any case, my opinion is that this is a perfect tent for solo use with your pet(s).
Regarding the weight, the tent weighs officially 6.83 lb (3.1 kg), and this is quite accurate. My own measurement gives 3.136 kg.
This looks quite good, though I rate the weight with respect to the area, just to know. But see my rating below.
The official packed size is (L x D) 17.7 x 7.9 inches (45 x 20 cm), and I would say this is indeed so. I was transporting it on a bicycle, but it is small enough to be attached to a backpack as well.
So it can be described as a very compact tent as it is, but I rate tents with respect to the overall covered area, and from that perspective it is a bit bulky.
The carry bag is nicely designed, no zippers, and you have the compression straps and a carry handle, see how it looks:
