Bivacco Del Piero - Refuge Del Piero

Bivacco Del Piero (Refuge Del Piero) is a typical alpine refuge, one of many in the Italian Alps. Here is my report about it, with some basic data which you might need.

Hochfeiler – Gran Pilastro: The Highest Spot In Zillertal Alps

Last Modified: 01/13/2025

The Hochfeiler hut, 2710 m.

Hochfeiler or Gran Pilastro is the highest mountain in Zillertal Alps. It is located on the border between Austria and Italy. The normal route to the summit goes from the south Italian side, and this is my only reason for placing this mountain in the Italian Alps within this site.

Monte Sobretta seen from the summit of Pizzo Tresero.

Monte Sobretta (3296 m) raises above Santa Caterina Valfurva, in the Lombardy province in the Italian Alps. You cannot miss it from the village; you see it as a huge massive which raises above the village in the southwest direction.

Monte Scorluzzo at Stelvio pass

Last Modified: 01/13/2025

Monte Scorluzzo

Monte Scorluzzo (3095 m) rises directly above Stelvio Pass (Stilfser Joch, 2760 m). The Stelvio road which leads to the pass is one of the greatest roads in the world. Such a high access by car makes the climb to Monte Scorluzzo relatively simple. Here I provide a few details about the access route to […]
