The North Face Resolve jacket for men is a waterproof, breathable, and windproof 2-layer jacket. It is nicely designed and very comfortable, suitable for everyday wear and for occasional outdoor activities, a truly great value for the price.
This is a jacket with DryVent waterproof and breathable technology, developed by the North Face. The outer fabric is a very pleasant but durable nylon ripstop.
The front zip is with a double storm flap, a bit too much and annoying perhaps, but this is to prevent the wind from going in. Velcro tabs are all along the flaps.
On the cuffs, you do not have velcro tabs for adjustment, only elasticity. I love to have both together. On the hem, you have dual drawcords, with toggles on both sides.
The collar is nicely done with a soft and pleasant fleece, you can see it in the picture below. The two side pockets are zippered and with storm flaps. They are made of mesh, obviously in order to increase ventilation through the pockets.
The attached hood stows into the collar. It is not removable, and it has two adjustability options on the sides of the face, drawcords with toggles. There is no additional adjustability on the back, pity indeed. The brim is slightly rigid as it should be, but still flexible to stow nicely in the collar.
Inside, you have a mesh liner, this is something I love to see in rain jackets. It is true that it adds to the overall weight, but at the same time, it adds to comfort, as well as to insulation. Its main purpose is to protect the waterproof membrane from abrasion and to avoid direct contact with the membrane.
Note that there also exists a version of this jacket for women.
The features of the membrane (see below) are such that this jacket can be put in the group of very waterproof rain jackets. It will keep you dry even in a hurricane rain. But its breathability is rather moderate, so I would not plan it for very hard physical activity. For a city use, this jacket is among the best.

Pros & cons
Nothing is perfect as usual, so it is always the matter of finding the best balance between personal preferences, the features of the jacket, and the purpose and use of it. I would say this jacket is a great choice for daily life, and good enough for occasional outdoor activities. Here is my summary:
The weight of this jacket is due to a very strong and durable material, with 70 D. So this can hardly be understood as cons, but this depends on the use of the jacket as I mentioned above.
You may compare this with an incredibly lightweight Essence jacket by Marmot, which is ultra-lightweight with 179 grams, but its fabric is 20 D only! So the question is what you prefer more, a very durable or an ultra-lightweight material for backpacking and climbing.
