This Osprey Xenith 105 Review is about a top class, long-haul, custom fit men backpack, designed specifically for expeditions and longer backpacking trips.
You will be able to carry up to 80 pounds (37 kg) quite comfortably. In the same time this is an ultralight backpack for its size, with the weight of only around 2.5 kilograms, see the table below.
Like other packs from the series, Osprey Xenith 105 pack features a pre-curved BioForm CM moldable hip belt. The belt is constructed by using different densities of foam which have such properties that when heated using an Osprey Custom Molding Oven provides optimum comfort and load carrying performance. The same effect happens due to the body temperature. The belt will thus remain stiff, but molded naturally to fit your body.
The pack comes with BioForm4 harness with NeoSpacer fabric, which gives optimum comfort and breathability.
The suspension is based on a light wire frame that determines the perimeter of the pack, together with a centrally positioned aluminum stay. For heavy loads, you need the best possible padding, and this pack provides it.
Osprey Xenith 105 pack comes in 3 different sizes (M, L, XL), with features summarized in the table below.
The top lid on the pack is height adjustable in case you add extra stuff. The lid can be removed and used as a separate pack.
The main compartment can be accessed in 4 ways, from the top, from the bottom through the bottom compartment after removing or detaching the divider between them, and through 2 zippered openings on both sides.
Pockets: The pack has 2 pockets are on the hip belt, 2 side pockets on the lower part, 2 large sized zippered compartments on the top of the lid, 2 very large vertically zippered pockets on the front, a large stretch mesh pocket on top of these 2 pockets on the front face.
