Marmot Minimalist Rain Jacket For Women – Reliable Outdoor Rainwear

Marmot Minimalist rain jacket for women is a very popular and reliable completely waterproof,  windproof, and breathable rainwear for outdoor activities.

Description

Marmot Minimalist women jacket in one out of 10 colors.
Marmot Minimalist women jacket in one out of 10 colors.

In spite of its name, Marmot Minimalist jackets have far more features than some other jackets from Marmot, like the Essence for example. There exists also a version for men as well, described in this site.

This is a polyester Gore-Tex Packlite jacket, with all seams taped, completely waterproof windproof and breathable. Being a rain jacket, this is just a shell, you do not have internal mesh layer inside or insulation of any kind. But its design is such that you can easily add extra insulation fleece layers beneath the shell, and use this jacket throughout the year.

The front is with a traditional full-length zipper, with an external storm flap and with a snap button on the hem. The adjustment elements on the hem have cords with toggles on both sides.

Angel-Wing design, typical for Marmot, provides a complete freedom of movement, so the torso of the jacket is not moving around during your activity.

The hood is of a proper size, with a brim and elastic cords with toggles on both sides of the face. The third adjustment point is yet another drawcord with a toggle on the back. You can see all this in the pictures.

Two side pockets are with zippers and velcro tabs. They are rather low and naturally you will not be able to use them when you carry a backpack with a hip belt.

On the cuffs, you have velcro tabs for adjustment. Higher up you have very long pit zips with storm flaps, and without mesh from the inside, all the same features as in the men’s model.

Does this or some other company make a short 3 in one COAT to use on a partially urban trip? Jackets don’t work for me in London.

Hi Tierney, I am not sure what you mean by coat. But if you want something longer then this Sierra Designs Men Elite cagoule is something I would recommend.

WOW!!! That is a very nice jacket, I was thinking about purchasing one for myself until I seen the price. $200.00! I have never paid that much for a jacket. My winter coat didn’t even cost that much. I am on a very tight budget but if I see something that is more in my price range that is as good as this jacket I may consider purchasing.

Hi Theresa, the reason of giving that comparison table with PreCip jacket was the price. So have a look you might decide this is something for you.
