The OneTigris Conifer Canvas Tent with Stove Jack is a floorless shell but with some unique features. With addition of a wood burning stove it can be used in winter, and if you add an inner tent it can be used in other seasons. In both cases it will be for solo use only.
Key features & benefits
- Quality polycotton fabric.
- Integrated stove jack.
- Aluminum A-frame support.
- Unique venting design with a vent pole.
- Reasonable price.
What this is about
Here you have a nicely designed shell tent, so this is a floorless construction. The tent may look like a tipi (teepee) structure, but it is quite unique. Namely, it is supported with an A-shaped pole set partly visible in the picture below, and it is not freestanding.
So there is no central support pole here. This makes it a bit easier to organize the covered area. Note that this is also a single-layer shell.
You might want to know that this tent is on the brand’s site under the name CONIFER T/C Chimney Tent. The letters T/C here are related to its fabric, more below.
Integrated stove jack
The tent comes ready for a wood burning tent stove, so you have a stove jack on the roof. Note that they have their own OneTigris Tiger Roar Tent Stove on the market, and it can be used in this tent. The picture below shows how it looks with the stove in use.
Materials
All the elements in the package are shown in the picture below.
The frame: The poles create an A-frame around the door. There is one extra pole that supports the low vent. This is all aluminum.
The fabric: They use a combination or blend which they call Terylene Cotton, or T/C as you will see in their specifications.
So what is a terylene? Well, this is just a sort of a polyester. They use 65% of it and mix with 35% of cotton, and the result is a fabric with 210 g/m². This weight per square meter is the same as in the Browning Camping Talon 1 Person Tent.
I have seen a statement that it ‘ensures protection against UV light and overheating during the day’. Such a blend is both stronger and lighter than a pure cotton fabric. They also claim it’s fire-retardant.
The waterproof rating is minimal, just 400 mm, bear this in mind. This is comparable to an ordinary umbrella, and you have far more in the mentioned Browning Camping tent.
Note that the zippers here are the best quality YKK, you will not find anything better on the market.
The tent includes 2 interior light attachment points. Many of the features mentioned above are summarized in this picture:
Ventilation
This tent comes with two integrated roof vents. But they have also added here something unique; there is a low vent on the side, and it is supported with a short pole, you can see it in the pictures showing it from outside and inside:
The vent is with a fixed mesh and a zippered panel from inside, to regulate air circulation. As you see, this is an overhanging design, so you can keep it open even when it rains.
It also provides a bit of views, all in all, a completely unique detail. In combination with the roof vents, this can always generate enough vertical air flow to fight condensation.

Accessory OneTigris Inner Tent 03
This inner tent is absolutely essential if you want to use the Conifer shell tent in any other season apart from winter, otherwise you do not have protection from insects, spiders, and snakes. So this is the reason I am showing it here.
As you realize, this Inner Tent 03 comes with its own stakes and ropes. It can be used in the Conifer tent or in any other where it can fit. You cam use it also on its own in an area without rain, and you will have full insects protection.
Who is it for
Regarding the best use & climate, this tent as it is can be used for cold weather camping with or without a stove. The fabric is thick and it gives a bit of insulation, plus it makes the inner area darker so you can sleep longer.
Note that the vents are closable if you feel cold, and the skirt around the base can be pressed with snow to prevent cold drafts.
However, if you use it as a 3-season tent, then an inner tent is a must, otherwise you will have no protection from the ground regarding insects and other creatures.
The waterproof rating is formally low, but numerous reports by users show that the tent kept the inner dry in various conditions and in extended periods of use.
Regarding the size, this may be quite confusing and it depends on how you use this tent. If you do not have an inner tent, and you sleep on the ground, then dimensions are such that there is place for at least 4 sleeping pads on the ground. This should be obvious from the dimensions shown below.
However, note that this is a floorless shelter, so you have no protection from insects. Therefore, if you add cots, there will be place for at least two if a stove is not used. The ground area is large enough to allow for three smaller cots if they are very low cots.
On the other hand, if you use a wood burning tent stove, there will be place for one cot only, or for two pads on the floor.
If you use their Inner Tent 03 which they recommend, see the picture below, as you have to in all other seasons if you want protection from insects, you will have place on the floor for one user only.
Observe that the Inner Tent 03 is only 6.5 ft (200 cm) long, but the shell tent offers no less than 8.5 ft (260 cm) of length. Also, the Inner Tent 03 is only 85 cm wide, while you have 130 cm in the half-width of the shell tent.
So the space is not really optimally used with this inner tent in place, and it is hard to properly rate this tent regarding its area. This is mainly because it depends on how you plan to use it.
This brand has several other inner tents, but they are designed for their other shell tents. Perhaps they might realize that they need something more appropriate for this Conifer shell tent.
In view of all this, my opinion is that this is just a solo shelter because inner tent is a must, and I shall rate it as such, more below. But it can easily accommodate two hunters sleeping on their cots, assuming that they do not use a stove.
Regarding the weight, the tent may look heavy with its 15 lb (6.8 kg), so indeed this is not to be carried long distances.
But note that this is a polycotton shelter with plenty of space for a solo use, no less than 72 ft² (6.8 m²) of the covered area, so the weight is justified. In fact, you have a great weight/area ratio of 1 kg/m², which is mainly due to the fact that the tent has no floor which would add lots of weight.
The packed size of 23.6 x 7.8 x 7.8 inches (60 x 20 x 20 cm) is also very good when you see all its features. This is again due to missing floor of course.
Regarding the price, it is more than fair for such a great tent. Though bear in mind that the Inner Tent 03 when added separately adds to the price. The link below will show you daily updated prices.

Final thoughts & rating
In conclusion, the OneTigris Conifer Canvas Tent with Stove Jack presents an intriguing blend of design and functionality, catering to the needs of solo adventurers or a cozy duo in cold weather conditions.
The tent’s unique features, such as the integrated stove jack and A-framed entry, make it stand out in the market. The quality polycotton fabric, though providing minimal waterproofing, offers a good balance between strength and lightness.
The addition of a wood burning stove transforms this floorless shelter into a winter-ready haven, ensuring a warm and comfortable retreat.
While the tent excels in cold weather, the need for an inner tent in other seasons becomes apparent to ward off insects and provide additional protection.
The carefully crafted ventilation system, with roof vents and a unique low vent design, addresses condensation concerns effectively.
Despite some limitations, such as the lack of insects protection and the specific requirements for a truly comfortable experience, the OneTigris Conifer Canvas Tent with Stove Jack earns praise for its overall quality, reasonable price, and thoughtful design.
Whether used as a solo tent or for two individuals in colder climates, this shelter proves to be a versatile and reliable option for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a unique camping experience. I have included it in my lists of best small canvas tents and best winter camping tents.
Below you can see how I rate it against my usual rating criteria so that you can easily compare it with other items of this type. Note that I rate it as a solo tent and as it is, i.e., without the inner tent.
